Get a detailed report on the internals of a PDF: page count and page dimensions, the fonts used and whether they are embedded, images and their resolutions, encryption and permission state, metadata, and the version of the format. It is the tool to reach for when a document is behaving oddly somewhere else and you need to know what is actually inside it.
Look at the fonts and images. A scanned page has one large image and no fonts; a generated document has embedded fonts and little or no image data. A scan that has been through OCR shows both.
In the font list, which shows whether each font is embedded. Fonts that are not embedded rely on the printer or reader having them, which is the usual cause of a document printing in the wrong typeface.
The report gives the actual page dimensions in points, at 72 to the inch - so A4 is 595 x 842 and US Letter is 612 x 792. A document that prints with unexpected margins is often simply set to the other one.
Files are uploaded over an encrypted connection and processed on CoonTool's own server, not in your browser. The working copy is deleted automatically once the job is done, and in any case within 24 hours. Nothing is stored permanently and no account is required.
