Rename a PDF based on the title found inside it. The tool inspects the document for a heading or title and uses that as the filename. It is aimed at scanner and download output - the folders full of scan_0001.pdf and document(3).pdf that are impossible to search through by name.
From the document content, typically the most prominent heading on the first page, falling back to the title in the metadata where the content gives nothing usable.
Detection relies on the first page looking like it has a title. Letterheads, cover images and forms often defeat it. Setting a proper title with Edit PDF Metadata gives it something reliable to use.
Only after OCR, since a scan has no text to read a title from.
Files are uploaded over an encrypted connection and processed on CoonTool's own server, not in your browser. The working copy is deleted automatically once the job is done, and in any case within 24 hours. Nothing is stored permanently and no account is required.
